Bio

I am a juried artist at Cape Cod Art Center and Eastham Painter's Guild. I have exhibited at Galley West Gallery in Orleans in 2023 and 2024. In the summer of 2025, I will be exhibiting my work at the schoolhouse museum in Eastham as a member of Eastham Painter’s Guild. It has been such a heartwarming experience to be welcomed by the community of Cape Cod artists who are both talented and genuinely wonderful people.

I was raised in Fukuoka, Japan on the southern island of Kyushu. Being influenced by my artistically talented mother who was an oil painter, calligrapher, and professional photographer, I picked up paint brushes early at the age of four and kept drawing whatever inspired me. After immigrating to the United States in the ’80s, my life was unsettled trying to acclimate to a new county and didn’t have the piece of mind to focus on painting until I retired from the publishing industry in NYC in 2020 and moved to Eastham full time with my husband.

Before retiring, I participated in the Art Student League of New York figure drawing sessions. However, upon taking some oil painting classes on the Cape and seeing breathtakingly beautiful local scenery every day, the subject matter I’ve been most attracted to has been landscapes although I continue to do figure and still life painting occasionally as a change of pace.
