Artist Statement
I am drawn to moments when light, atmosphere, and human presence come together to create a sense of stillness or passing time. Working primarily in oil, I use loose brushwork, softened edges, and areas that shift between representation and abstraction.
Whether painting figures moving through dappled sunlight, people quietly sharing a space, or the landscape itself, I am less interested in describing every detail than in capturing the feeling of being there. Increasingly, I allow parts of the image to dissolve while others emerge, inviting the viewer to complete what is left unresolved.
My paintings begin with observed places and ordinary moments, but my goal is to move beyond the scene itself—to find something quieter and more universal within it.
